Spreading Beneficial Knowledge

A portion of each purchase ($14/50% of each bookset sale) is always saved to fund the next edition. Each year, we are setup to reach and inspire 1,000 families and teachers via the sales of our educational materials.

Each story is related to a heroic trait such as resourcefulness or problem-solving, and has an “activity guide” and tips to help parents to create teachable moments.

Caring for Children's Wellbeing

A portion of each purchase is set aside to help create food security for children.

  • Support children’s wellbeing, via funding over 2,050 meals for families and children in need. To do so, we supported the Chicago Food Bank and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley .

Caring for Environmental Wellbeing

A part of each proceed  supports environmental wellbeing. We:

  • Ensured boxes for the booksets came from forests that were treated kindly – via the FSC certification.
  • Allocated proceeds to plant 100 trees and support environmental stewardship by indigenous communities in South Dakota (see treeswaterpeople.org/south-dakota).

  • Calculate how many trees were used to make the books, boxes, and envelopes we are selling; plant more than the amount we used and ensure it is locally sustained; support indigenous land management and policy change
  • Make more environmentally friendly materials selection for future editions

  • Determine how to be eco-friendly or offset the pollution caused by shipping
